GeekLog is a Content Management System (CMS). It allows you to publish articles and announcements on your site. It also has a membership access area where your registered members get certain privileges, such as the ability to submit their own articles and access to areas not permitted to the public. You can also directly send out e-mail messages to your registered members.
It is easy to set up a poll - a question with several options for answers - where your visitors and members can vote on. A poll is a useful way to find out what your visitors want from your site or to assess public opinion.You would need to have some basic knowledge in HTML and some technical know-how in order to use GeekLog, so it is not as user-friendly to manage as a blog like WordPress. However, it does offer more functionalities.
It is also not as easy to change the theme, layout and features in GeekLog as in WordPress.
